It is clear, by the large attendance at the Oneida County Fair in 2016, that the community values a county fair. Behind the scenes, the Fair volunteers bring professionalism to their job positions. Currently the position of Exhibit Court Superintendent is open. The Fair Committee is looking for a volunteer to fill this position who is interested in education, community participation, and personal growth for adults and youth. The Exhibit Court Superintendent is asked to lead a team in overseeing Fair judging entries, school exhibits, an entrepreneurís tent, demonstrations, and the scheduling of organizations in the tennis court area of the Fairgrounds.
The requirements for this position are: good organizational skills, an interest in planning, and exploring new ideas that fit within the mission and vision of the Oneida County Fair Committee. The position also requires flexibility and good communication skills with a passion for teamwork and networking. A background in education and/or volunteer coordination is desired.
Personal rewards in this position include the opportunity to increase the development of leadership skills and event planning knowledge. Additional satisfaction in this position for both you and the participants include seeing individuals and organizations set high expectations, achieve goals, and demonstrate value. The time commitment requires only a few hours per month, but expands during the summer months.
